The Ambassador has noted that the goal of her visit is to meet and discuss issues regarding the RA-EU relations and bilateral cooperation before the completion of the Latvian Presidency in the Council of the European Union.

Eduard Sharmazanov highlighted the further development and deepening of the Armenian-Latvian friendly relations. Touching upon the participation of Armenia in the Riga Summit of the Eastern Partnership the NA Deputy Speaker has underlined that the Summit has proved that the RA-EU relations should continue to normally develop. In the NA Deputy Speaker’s word, joining the EEU Armenia continues highlighting the dialogue with the EU.

In terms of providing regional security Eduard Sharmazanov emphasized the peaceful settlement of the NK problem based on three well-known principles within the OSCE Minsk Group, noting that the way of the conflict settlement is not the war which propagates Azerbaijan.
